Description
Blended charter schools (sometimes called “hybrid charter schools”) provide student instruction at least in part at supervised brick and- mortar locations, and at least in part through digital learning.1 In 2009–2010, 142 charter schools identified themselves as implementing blended models. These charter schools served 61,182 students, approximately four percent of all charter school students in the United States.2 While this is a relatively small percentage of the overall charter population, blended models have begun growing rapidly in recent years and are expected to continue to do so in the years ahead.
